Sometimes – between the rushing about and the back and forth – it’s important to just stop and take it all in even if it’s just for a moment or two. And this was one of those moments.
The UK had been ground to a halt by the mist. I had friends stranded in Amsterdam and Dublin as flights into London airports had been temporarily suspended. This meant that they had nothing to do but post images of themselves on Facebook and Instagram in various exciting European bars.
But I was stuck in misty old London rushing around trying to fit too much in as usual, and none of today’s activities included visiting a bar and checking myself in on FB.
Then I spotted the misty sunset on Richmond Hill.
A stunning sight heralding the end London’s misty mayhem and a brief respite from my own.
